Online Mini-Class Series: From Pesach to Shavuot-From Love to Law

In this mini-series on Zoom we will examine three classic texts that are part of the sacred textual tradition that spans the time from Passover to Shavuot.
There will be three sessions led by Rabbi Richard F. Address, founder and director of JewishSacredAging.com, on Wednesdays, May 7, May 14, and May 21, each taking place between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. You can register for one, two, or all of the sessions.
All classes will be recorded and attendees will receive private links for the recordings.
Class Schedule
May 7: The Song of Songs: The allegory of love and sensuality the is the M’gillah (scroll) that is assigned to Passover. Why is this in the Bible? What is the symbolism of the book and is this symbolism also present in other texts?
May 14: Pirke Avot: This collection of ethical and moral sayings is a traditional study between Passover and Shavuot. We will highlight some key passages that relate to our cohort.
May 21: The Book of Ruth. The assigned M’gillah for Shavuot. What is the meaning of Ruth? Why is this book so treasured. How does it speak to some of the relationship issues that our community faces today?
